Based on great demand in the preparation work for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Machine Translation for the Olympic Winter Games Project carries out research on machine translation. The project explores the relevant theories,models and algorithms based on deep learning. It establishes the written and oral parallel databases, and develops machine translation systems for theOlympic Winter Games that respectively support the written and oral translation between Chinese and English. The performance of the translation systems in Olympic Winter Games has significantly exceeded that of Google. Written language translation program is for computers, and oral translation for mobiles. Both of the programs can be signed up by using other devices. The project endeavors toprovide key technical support for both the intelligent language services launched by ACLR and multilingual language services stated inBeijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Language Services Action Plan.
