讲座提要:This talk is mainly to introduce my monograph

below:

Jiang, Wenying (2009). Acquisition of Word Order in Chinese as

a Foreign Language. MOUTON DE GRUYTER.

I will briefly compare word orders in Chinese and English and

identifies potential Chinese L2 word order difficulties for adult

native-English-speaking learners of Chinese. I will also discuss the research

objective, methodology and how a principle-based taxonomy of Chinese L2 word

order errors has been developed.

In the book it is found that violation of relevant word order

principles has a high explanatory value for the various word order errors

encountered in the data. This has clear pedagogical implications. Chinese L2

learners generally lack awareness of the word order principles (and

sub-principles) on which the new taxonomy is based. These principles and

sub-principles are seen to be of considerable importance to the acquisition of

Chinese L2 word order. In order to improve learners’ word order performance, the

results of this study indicate that it is imperative for the basic Chinese word

order principles be included in a CFL curriculum.

主讲人简介:姜文英,澳大利亚昆士兰大学中文部主任,应用语言学博士。曾任教于加拿大阿尔伯塔大学及澳洲的西澳大利亚大学。主要研究领域为第二语言习得、二语教学法及中英跨文化交际研究。2009年出版学术专著Acquisition
