Since the beginning of this century, the role of Chinese interlanguage corpus in teaching and learning Chinese as a foreign languages has become increasingly prominent, which has drawn wide attention in the academic field, and the construction of Chinese interlanguage corpus has reached a peak, thus "becoming a hot spot in the study of the corpus" (Tan Xiaoping, 2014). The construction of Chinese interlanguage corpus is entering an important period of prosperity and development. However, there is still no unified standard for the construction of such corpus. Corpus, no matter which kind, or whether it has been built or in development, comes into being based on the builder’s subjective understanding and research experience. To a large degree, the practice of corpus creating is out of random thoughts. This project is proposed to solve various problems in the construction of Chinese interlanguage corpus. The ultimate goal is to build the best and the largest universal Chinese interlanguage corpus - "Global Chinese Interlanguage Corpus".

The basic concept of the project design is: language materials come from all over the world; people in Chinese academic circles at home and abroad work together, and after the completion of the corpus, it will be availablefor free to Chinese language teachers, researchers, Chinese learners, and people who are interested in Chinese, in order to fully share resources that serve global Chinese teaching and research.
