讲座提要： In the fourth lecture, we review some key areas of pragmatics, especially as they relate to the study of some fundamental issues of communication. We introduce the theory of speech acts and Grice’s work on meaning and conversation. Together with the cognitive, semiotic and evolutionary studies of language, we may be approaching closer to answering the seven wonders.
主讲人简介： Ahti-Veikko Pietarinen教授，男，现任爱萨尼亚塔林工业大学（University of Tallinn Technology）哲学系教授、系主任，芬兰科学院与爱萨尼亚学术研究理事会皮尔士研究中心主任。Ahti-Veikko Pietarinen教授的研究领域包括科学技术史与科学技术哲学，实用主义，逻辑学的历史与哲学，语言与符号哲学，数学哲学，博弈论，行为哲学，认知与复杂科学。Ahti-Veikko Pietarinen教授是一位高产的学者，他的H-index（H指数）为19；发表论文224篇；引用次数1342；平均每年被引用次数71.56。根据论文引用率，位于全球顶尖150名哲学家之列，全球语言哲学家前40名。自2013至2017年5年发表SSCI论文53篇。
