Vice President Huang Yifang Visited School of Psychology for Research and Guidance

In the afternoon of October 8, 2021, Vice President Huang Yifang visited School of Psychology to conduct research and guidance on student affairs and management problems of School of Psychology, accompanied by Mrs. Huang Zhan, Director of Student Affairs Office, Mr. Yang Tianqiao, Secretary of the University’s the Committee of Communist Youth League, Mr. Lu Wenhong, Director of Security Office and Mr. Ji Xiaofeng, General Manager of Campus Service Center. The leading group of the School of Psychology, the head teacher and student relations facilitator attended the research meeting.

During this meeting, Vice President Huang Yifang listened carefully to the report of Wang Xu,Secretary of the party branch of the School of Psychology, and Zhang Xiuping, the head teacher. Then Jiang Xin, Executive vice president of the School of Psychology, reported the work of team management, personnel training, student cultivation and results of scientific research. Huang Yifang gave full affirmation to the achievements of the School of Psychology since its establishment, and gave some suggestions for the development. He pointed out that a good start is half the battle, and the development of the new school needs the leading group and all the staff to take the initiative to form a good school culture, so as to promote the development of the school in an all-round way.

Vice President Huang Yifang further suggested: First, further strengthen the institutional construction and team building to formulate effective regulations and rules for implementation, improve the teaching and research ability of teachers, and enhance the service consciousness and management ability of administrative staff; second, strengthen the student-oriented concept and pay attention to each individual student’s development; third, pay attention to the ideological guidance for students in a precise and detailed manner and promote the employment of undergraduate and graduate students on this basis; Fourth, attach importance to security, stability and ideology education for teachers and students; fifth, further standardize the work of party construction to provide political guarantee for teaching and research; sixth, fully use the internal and external platforms such as the school counseling center and off-campus internship base to provide internship practice opportunities for students and also provide support and assistance for the work of the university's psychological counseling center.

At the research meeting, the leaders of the administrative offices put forward suggestions for the development of the School of Psychology, taking into account their own work. Huang Zhan suggested further increasing enrollment publicity to stabilize and improve enrollment results; further establishing a sound system to improve the quality of student work and further strengthening student ideological and political education to improve the stability. Yang Tianqiao pointed out the importance of the construction of secondary league organizations in the construction of student organizations and encouraged students to participate in social practice and voluntary activities. Lu Wenhong emphasized the importance of security and stability for the smooth and orderly development of the university through actual cases, and hoped that the college would further strengthen the security and stability education for teachers and students. Ji Xiaofeng introduced the organizational structure of Campus Service Center, especially the 315 Center, Engineering Department, Catering Center and Building Center, which are closely connected with the daily work of the school, and hoped that the school could provide support and assistance to the mental health education work of their employees in the Campus Service Center in the future.

Finally, Jiang Xin and Wang Xu thanked Vice President Huang Yifang and other leaders of administrative offices for their visiting and guidance, and said they would take this opportunity to further clarify the development direction of the school, improve their work, and continue to promote the high-quality development of the school.
