On the afternoon of November 20th, under the guidance of instructor Xue Meng, the 2020 undergraduates and postgraduates of the Department of Linguistics went to the magnificent and imposing Capital Museum. It is located in The West Chang'an Avenue. Through the tour of the "ancient capital of Beijing", "Beijing ancient things", "ancient porcelain art" and "bronze art exhibition series in Yan' City", students of the department obtained new understanding of the historical development in Beijing. They are deeply influenced from Beijing's historical and cultural development of China. They also firmed their ideal faith, set up the correct outlook on life, world and values, and felt the charm of characters from close sight. Theyimproved the understanding of theirmajorconstruction as well.

Flicking through a three-dimensional Beijing history and culture of textbook, the students went together through the "Dawn Civilization" "Yan Ji charm" "YouYan World" of "The City of Emperor" "Sunset Cloud" and "The Republic of China". They also visited the city location, politics and economy, national integration, and Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges in all-round as well as multi-angle. They appreciated the formation from the original settlement of Beijing city. They also witnessed the development from political center to the unified feudal dynasty's capital city, and to the capital of the People's Republic of China. They deeply felt the innovation, diversity, continuity and progressiveness of Beijing culture.
